The Piano (Song 20 of 50)

28 Aug

This song is my shortest one yet, but it’s going to be quite a bit longer once I write the piano solos that go with it…I’m procrastinationg on that, though.  I think this one would also be really good as just a poem.

The lights go down
One summer’s eve
And with the crowd
The spirit leaves
Night falls hard,
Of life bereaved
Dejected, the piano grieves.

Unaccompanied by note or chord
The piano softly moans
Into the void her solo soars
The piano sings alone.
